Texas based Saxon Global chose Birch to create their intro video
Building high performance and loyal teams is a perpetual challenge businesses all over the globe are facing. Saxon Global is a staffing agency based out of Irving, Texas which has been helping start ups and enterprises hire technical talent for delivering delightful products on tight deadlines.
We recently had a chance to work with Hari and Emily from Saxon Global’s team to help them deliver a crisp pitch. The objective was to deliver a 2 minute visually engaging video to illustrate Saxon’s understanding and experience in solving this problem.
This video has been created entirely out of stock footage and motion graphics with a budget of ~ $1000. It was the first time we were experimenting with this format for a B2B video and both the client and us are pleasantly surprised with what we have been able to pull off. A lot of research and iterations went into how do craft the story and depict various emotions with the right visuals.
Here are the things we took back from this project
- Not every thought/emotion will find the right footage, so you have to think through what you have to say. Designing the script and screenplay go hand in hand when you are working with stock footage.
- Ideal video length for this genre is 1-1:30. Beyond this point, it becomes difficult to find coherent actors in the footage and story starts seeming artificially stitched
- This format works well for videos without a central human character. In fact, one should try to minimise close up shots since you might struggle to find more footage by the same actor.
- With proper research, you can create an incredibly good looking live action ad with a lower budget than an animated explainer
Here is what Hari had to say when he saw the final output.
